In the photo: Central Asian Shepherd Dog
The Central Asian Shepherd Dog is a large-sized dog, strong, bold, with self-esteem, unpretentious, and easily adapts to various climatic conditions, which makes it possible to use dogs of this breed for various types of services.
Rough type of build, with a massive skeleton and powerful muscles. The skin is thick, inelastic, with well-developed subcutaneous tissue, often forms a suspension on the neck and undercuts. The format is somewhat stretched to a greater extent in bitches than in males. The lower growth limit for males is 65 cm, for females - 60 cm. A larger growth is desirable with proportional addition. Sexual type is well defined. Males are larger and more massive than bitches.
It has an innate sense of ownership and territoriality.
BEHAVIORAL FEATURES
The behavior is confident, balanced, calm. The characteristic reaction is defensive in active form.
Serious shortcomings that significantly reduce the breeding value of a dog are insecure behavior, excessive excitability.
HEAD
Proportional to the overall constitution, massive, broad in the cranial part, with developed, but not protruding cheekbones and weakly pronounced superciliary arches. The occipital protuberance is smoothed out due to well-developed muscles. The forehead is flat or slightly rounded; the transition from the forehead to the muzzle is weakly expressed. The muzzle is blunt, somewhat shorter than the length of the cranial part, well filled under the eyes, wide and deep at the base, almost not tapering to the nose. When viewed from the front and in profile, it has a rectangular shape, from above - from a rectangular to a massive, almost non-tapering wedge. The lower jaw is massive, wide. The lips are thick fleshy, completely covering the lower jaw. The nose is large, black. With white and pale yellow color, a clarified nose is allowed.
Undesirable: the strongly pronounced folding of the skin on the head with moist lips forming a bleached nasal nose at any color other than white and light fawn.
Ears
Small, triangular in shape, hanging, low set - the base of the ears at or slightly below the line of the eyes. Shortly stop in puppyhood.
EYES
Small, oval, straight, wide and deep set. The eyelids are quite dry, a pronounced third century is allowed.
Full stroke of the eyelids is desirable.
Undesirable raw eyelids, exposing part of the sclera.
TEETH
White, large, tight-fitting to each other, in a complete set (42 teeth). The dual first premolar is allowed. Incisors at the base are in one line. Scissor bite
It is undesirable, but suppose a straight bite in the hooks in dogs older than three years with age-related tooth erosion.
The presence of broken incisors that do not interfere with the determination of a bite does not affect the dog's rating.
NECK
Powerful, almost rounded in cross section, broad at the base, approximately equal to the length of the head. It is set at an angle of 35 - 40 degrees to the back line. Suppose a suspension.
HOUSING
The chest is lowered to the line of the elbows or lower, long, wide, in the round section. Ribs are rounded, false ribs well developed. The front of the chest is well developed and protrudes forward in relation to the shoulder-scapular joints. The overall impression of the massiveness of the front of the case can be enhanced by a pronounced underbody. The abdomen is moderately tucked slightly above the lower chest line. The withers are high, short, stands out sharply. The height at the withers is slightly greater than or equal to the height at the sacrum. The back is strong, straight, wide, with well-developed muscles. The loin is short, wide, muscular, slightly convex. The croup is wide, muscular, with a slight slope, moderately long.
TAIL
High set, thick at the base. Non-docked tails are allowed, they are sickle-shaped and reach the hock joints.
FOREQUARTERS
When viewed from the front - straight, wide and parallel set. The blades are long, set obliquely. The humerus is long, obliquely set. The angle of the shoulder-blade joint is about 100 degrees. The shoulders are muscular, the forearms are massive, rounded in section, straight, set deep under the body. Metacarpus massive, strong, slightly sloping. The length of the front leg to the elbow is slightly greater than or equal to half the height of the dog at the withers.
HINDQUARTERS
Seen from the rear, straight and parallel, set slightly wider than the front. The hips are wide with well-developed muscles. The femurs are of medium length, set with a slight slope. Shins of medium length. Metatarsus of medium length, massive, sheer set. The angles of the knee and hock joints are moderately pronounced and clearly defined.
FEET
Large, oval, arched in a lump. Dewclaws should be removed.
COAT
The coat is coarse, straight, with a well-developed undercoat. Depending on the length of the coat, two types of coat are distinguished:
with short (4 - 5 cm) tight-fitting outer hair with no signs of a restroom coat
with long (7 - 8 cm) outer and integumentary hair and developed restroom hair on the ears, neck, hind limbs, tail.
Color
White, black, black and tan with the correct pattern tan, gray, fawn, red, tiger, spotted, piebald, tricolor.
MOVEMENT
Characteristic gaits are a sweeping, undeveloped lynx and gallop. When moving, the joints of the front and hind limbs freely expand, the withers, back, lower back and croup are slightly springy and are on the same level.
FAULTS
Dryness or friability of addition, leglessness, poor bone. Short, light, disproportionate to the body head. A convex forehead, pronounced cheekbones, a sharp transition from the forehead to the muzzle. The nose is spotty, brown or pink (not to be confused with a bleached nose with a white or pale yellow color). High set (the base of the ears is on the forehead line) uncropped ears. Convex, round, closely set eyes. Small, rare, badly damaged teeth. The absence of one tooth. High neck. Flat, narrow, shallow, underdeveloped breasts. Sagging or hunchbacked back. Flat, narrow, sunken lower back. Narrow, short, sharply slanted croup. Pronounced vysokozadnost. Short shoulder blades, straight shoulders, weak ligaments of the elbow and carpal joints. Saber, overly straightened corners of the knee and hock joints. Narrow set limbs. Connected or unbalanced movements. Uncorrectable amble.
DISQUALIFYING FAULTS
Cowardice, cholericity, uncontrollable aggressiveness. Dogs in the bitch type. Cryptorchidism is full or one-sided, underdeveloped testes. All deviations from the scissor bite, except as specified by the standard. Blue eyes, eyes of different colors. Soft, curly, wavy coat. Black with any tanning, genetically determined brown (with a brown nose, eyelids, lips and light eyes) and ash gray (with a gray nose, eyelids, lips and bright eyes) marble with any main background. Weak fixation ("articulation") of the joints.
