Habitat and life in the nature of pink cockatoo
Pink cockatoo lives on most of Australia, the island of Tasmania. The species is quite numerous and, thanks to agriculture, has expanded its habitat. However, illegal trade in this species is booming.
Pink cockatoo inhabits various areas, including savannahs, open forests and agrolandscapes. However, avoids dense forests. It is held at an altitude of up to 1600 meters above sea level.
The diet of pink cockatoo includes various seeds of herbs and crops, as well as insect larvae, berries, buds, flowers and eucalyptus seeds. They can feed at a distance of up to 15 km from the nest. Often gather in large flocks together with other species of cockatoo.

Breeding pink cockatoo
The nesting season of pink cockatoo in the north falls on February - June, in some places on July - February, in other regions on August - October. Pink cockatoo nests in tree hollows at a height of up to 20 meters. Usually birds clean off the bark around the hollow, and inside they cover the nest with eucalyptus leaves.
In the clutch of pink cockatoo, usually 3-4 eggs are hatched by the birds in turn. However, at night only the female incubates the masonry. Incubation lasts about 25 days.
At 7-8 weeks old, the pink cockatoo chicks leave the nest. Young individuals gather in large flocks, but their parents feed them for some time.
